So I created this page two days ago while I was packing and getting ready for a new artist residency, which is taking place in Graz, Austria with the title: “Responsive Art in the Public Realm”. Today is the second day of my stay in Graz and we are intensively working on our projects so I didn’t have the time to build this page completely and also share my other “photo diaries” from my past residences or artistic projects abroad. I will do it in the next couple of days so the site will become richer. I will also write about current projects which I do abroad, so at the moment it’s Graz and then Croatia will follow soon. So enough about the page, let’s talk about my stay in Graz.
Yesterday was very intensive day, where we were introduced to different sensors and microchips to work with in the next couple of days. The aim of the residency is to create a new media prototype which will be exhibited in November at the Forum Statpark Gallery in Graz together with different partners.
Testing different sensors.
Playing with the sonification.
So yesterday was all about the different technology and sensors and today we had a representation of different machines and devices which measures the climate conditions in all different ways so it is an inspiration for the new art works (prototypes) which we will produce.
Getting familiar with the classical weather station.
Interesting devices and instruments.
View from the rooftop .
After that we began to brainstorm and form new ideas for art prototypes.
Work in progress.
Forum Stadpark Gallery, space where the works will be exhibited.
So after the brainstorm and the first pitching of our ideas we went back to the Techical Institute of Graz to finish the day. We are tired but happy to work in teams on different new ideas and I believe there will be some very interesting new media prototypes for the exhibition in November. Next couple of days will be interesting and hardworking, but I will try to keep you posted.
